Teaching/Education Background
Leelanau Club PGA Professional Matt Morrison is a 2002 graduate of the Ferris State University PGA Golf Management Program. He was elected to PGA Membership in May 2003. While teaching at The Leelanau Club, he has given over 300 private lessons to golfers of all ages and abilities.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy revolves around getting back to the basics. I have found that nearly all swing flaws are caused by a problem in the players' preswing fundamentals, leading to the player having nearly no chance to perform a correct golf swing without having to make some kind of manipulation throughout the course of the swing.. This includes having a proper grip, stance, posture, alignment, and ball position.
Performing these fundamentals correctly are vital in developing consistantly well struck golf shots and lead into learning the remaining movements of the golf swing.
